The CEO, founder and resident producer of Mavin records is an enigmatic personality. Michael Collins Ajereh, although not a solo recording artist himself, has quickly become one of the most gifted, futuristic and prominent showbiz celebrities in Africa. In less than three years of establishing Mavin records, the genius hit music producer who has been dubbed the undisputed king of beats has changed the way Nigerians listen to music with timeless hit tunes of various genres without replicating beats and has revolutionized the industry. He has been called Africa’s answer to Timbaland, another producer with flamboyant beats and a distinctive style. Forbes magazine listed him as the 36th most powerful celebrity in Africa.
Born 1982 in Umuahia, Abia state where his mother comes from and his father from Delta state Nigeria. The young Michael Collins’ family relocated to Lagos where he went through primary, secondary and high school. It was in secondary school that he first acquired the moniker, Don Jazzy. His dad had a background in music business entrepreneurship and was at the fore front of veterans who worked untiringly for the establishment of professional artiste management and corporate music business structures in Nigeria. Although Don Jazzy followed a conventional educational path, he very quickly developed a passion for music and started playing the drums before the age of 4. He went on to start experimenting with various instruments at a tender age, a trait that was to become the hallmark of his later career.

                                           D’Prince

D’Prince, born Charles Enebeli in the city of Lagos to Mr. Collins Enebeli, a business man cum musical production manager and Mrs. Patience Enebeli, an international business tycoon. Music has always been in his family, so he is no stranger to the music business. D’Prince is the last child from a family of four children in which Don Jazzy is the 1st. He hails from Delta State.

 

                                                Di’Ja

Hadiza Blell simply known as Di’Ja or Aphrodija, is a Sierra Leonean-Nigerian recording artiste, visual artiste and song writer. She grew up in Sierra Leone, Nigeria, USA, Canada; Raised in a family where great emphasis was placed on the value of formal education, Di’ja committed herself to the academics and earned two university degrees at a very young age. However young Di’Ja’s passions soon extended beyond the classroom walls towards the colourful world of music, art and philanthropy.

                                              Dr. SID

Sidney Onoriode Esiri (born 1 May 1980 in Ikeja, Lagos state, Nigeria), known commonly as Dr SID is a Nigerian singer-songwriter and dentist, who is originally from Delta state, but was raised in Lagos. His mother a successful fashion designer and his father the legendary actor Justus Esiri who is a Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and famous for his role as the Village Headmaster a Nigerian sitcom popular in the 1980s. The second child of 4 children from an early age he had his heart set on becoming an entertainer. However his life took a different course graduating from the Nigerian Air force Secondary school Ikeja, SID went on to the University of Ibadan (UI) to study Dental Surgery. During his school years, his passion for entertainment could not be hidden as he took part in school plays, dance competitions and concerts winning numerous awards along the way.

DNA

Clinton and Blair Roberts, officially and popularly known as DNA, are identical twin brothers and talented music artistes with a natural flare for performance and the arts.
These Nigerian all round entertainers are motivated and creative individuals who broke into the music scene and officially kicked off their music career after winning the prize for “Best Upcoming Teen Artiste” in the Nigerian Teen Choice Awards in 2013. They continued on this trajectory and went on to compete in popular talent shows like X-factor and The Voice Nigeria where they finished top 7 and Top 12 respectively.

Johnny Drille

John Ighodaro, better known as Johnny Drille was born and raised in Edo State, Nigeria. He is from a family of seven including a clergy father and mother. He graduated from the University of Benin in 2012 where he majored in English and Literature.
He is a folk/alternative singer, songwriter, producer, and sound engineer. He started out music from his father’s Church at a very early age, and learned to sing around his siblings especially his older sister. He then went on to teach himself music production around 2006 when he first began using cassette recorders.

POE

Ladipo Eso, better known by his stage name Poe, is a Nigerian rapper and recording artist signed to Mavin Records.
After rising to prominence as an affiliate of rap duo Show Dem Camp, the Lagos-based emcee forged his solo path with fan favorites “Ko Ye Won” and “Gbe Sile”, before becoming a breakout star with hit single “Adore Her”.
Poe has been widely recognized for his flow and technical skill as a rapper, drawing comparisons to artists like J. Cole and Drake from fans and critics alike. His music is often marked by witty one-liners or punchlines, which he trademarked as “lifelines” for their depth and delivery.

Korede Bello

Super talented singer and guitarist, Korede Bello was born in Lagos, Nigeria. As a child, Korede Bello showed a strong interest in dance and music, teaching himself how to play many instruments.
At 7, he began performing on stages and entered his school talent competition at the age of 13, and placed first. Taking to singing and performing as a career path, he started performing at local venues and began building a cult following.

Reekado Banks

Award-winning Mavin act, Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon better known as Reekado Banks, was born in 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. The gifted singer and songwriter grew up listening to different genres of music and fell in love with the sweet melodies of Rhythm & Blues.
At 15, Reekado started writing songs as a simple hobby. His older brother, Temi, an aspiring A&R/Artist Manager discovered his book of lyrics and began to guide young Reekado on how to make and record music. Soon after, he decided to do music professionally, and got the support of family and friends, which further propelled him to go ahead with music.

Tiwa Savage

Multiple award winning Nigerian singer, Tiwatope Savage better known as Tiwa Savage was born in Lagos but spent a large chunk of her life in the UK and America. This multi-talented Grammy award nominee first got a taste of the big-time at 16 when she started as a background singer for George Michael. She wasted no time in building on that by lending vocals to other top musicians such as Mary.J. Blige, Chaka Khan, Blu Cantrell, Emma Bunton from The Spice Girls, Kelly Clarkson, Andreas Bocelli, Ms Dynamite, and many more. The talented artiste has since graced the stage with industry luminaries like Sting, 50 Cent, The Black Eyed Peas, Eminem, Robbie Williams, and Destiny’s Child to name a few.

Dj Big N

DJ Big N is widely known as one of Nigeria’s most sought out and respected disc jockeys. As an integral part of Mavin Records, DJ Big N has supported several of the label’s top-billed acts, including supporting Tiwa Savage on her first American tour. He has released several Mavin themed mixtapes, including the “Mavin All Stars” mixtape, the ‘Surulere Mixtape Volume 1’, and the “ENERGY Mixtape”, among others.

Altims

Aluku Timothy ( born on January 6, 1988 ), commonly known as Altims is an accomplished music producer and a disk jockey. A native of Delta State, his love for music began in the church like every other great musician.
As a keyboardist in his church choir, Altims quickly discovered how to make beat with Keyboard, after reading the entire manual. In 2006 as a 200 level student of Computer Engineering in University of Benin (UNIBEN), Altims decided to go into music production professionally having being inspired by Don Jazzy and Cobhams.

BabyFresh

Sunday Enejere aka ‘BabyFresh on the beat and his giving them all ofcorse’ is a Nigerian record producer, song writer, singer and audio engineer. The talented producer who has produced a lot of chart-topping songs such as: Adaobi(Mavins), Bestie(Dprince), My Darling, Allover(Tiwa Savage), Problem(Reekado Banks), Gbadun you(Dija,Tiwa Savage), Sote(Korede) etc developed a passion for music at a very tender age when he joined the choir at age 10.
